Who we are:

Caudatowa Garden Club is a group of like-minded gardeners who enjoy sharing information about flower and vegetable gardening, pollinator gardens and native plants, as well as new varieties of plants and all things gardening. We care about the environment and making Ridgefield a beautiful place to live.

What we do as a Club:

  • Our events include a monthly meeting with a display of horticulture from our yards, floral arrangements, a business meeting, and an informational gardening program or workshop.

  • We are concerned about natural resources and sponsor Rid-Litter Days with the town in April. We also co-sponsor the Mother’s Day Plant Sale in May at the Ballard Greenhouse with the Ridgefield Garden Club. Caudatowa members help to beautify Ridgefield by planting and caring for Town Hall planters, the Veterans’ Garden in front of the Lounsbury House, Ballard Greenhouse plantings, the Main Street Clock bonnet, the garden in front of the Ballard Green Housing Clubhouse, the Pollinator Pathway Garden at Richardson Park as well as a number of decorative triangles at street corners and small gardens around town.

  • We present a yearly scholarship to a Ridgefield High School graduate and give annual donations to conservation and garden projects.

More To Come:

  •  Programs are held on the second Tuesday of the month at 11 am from September to May. This is an opportunity to learn and also meet our club members.

Come join us:

  • Our informational gardening programs are now open to the public.  Please let us know if you plan to come by sending us an email.

As a  Community Conservation project, the Club, along with the town of Ridgefield sponsors an annual spring weekend of "Rid Litter Days".Please help clean up trash and debris around your neighborhood.  Collection bags and drop off points are available.  â€‹This year (2025)  Earth Day is "late" so Rid Litter Days are being held earlier so that you can pickup before the poison ivy sprouts along the roadsides.

GARDEN CLUBS

PLANT SALE

There are two garden clubs in Ridgefield - Caudatowa Garden Club and Ridgefield Garden Club.

Both clubs share the Ballard Greenhouse and host the annual "Garden Clubs Plant Sale".

Usually held on Friday and Saturday of Mother's Day weekend, this sale is our major fundraiser that enables us to maintain the Ballard Greenhouse and plant/maintain many civics gardens around the village.

Come buy from a broad selection of annuals, perennials, natives, herbs, vegetables, divided perennials from member's gardens (aka. "diggings") and boutique items.
